This is a unique opportunity to explore the practices of mindfulness and mindful living with experienced and dedicated mindfulness practitioner, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction teacher and psychotherapist Erica Rayner–Horn. Erica gently guides this retreat drawing on her own direct experience of cancer and that of others cancer patients and survivors she has worked with for many years.
This 2 day non-residential retreat is designed for anyone living with cancer; cancer patients and survivors, as well as loved ones, caregivers or anyone whose life has touched by cancer.
You will be introduced to the healing practices of mindfulness through guided meditations, deep relaxation sessions, mindful walking, gentle movement practices and mindful eating. There will be time for self-reflection and personal sharing within a safe and supportive circle that respects each person's own unique way of living with cancer and its challenges.
Scientific studies have shown that mindfulness can help transform fear and anxiety, relieve depression, reduce stress and improve coping skills as well as promoting health and boosting your immune system.
Suitable for beginners as well as those experienced in mindfulness practice.
Although mindfulness has its roots in ancient Buddhist wisdom teachings this is a secular retreat open to anyone of any spiritual orientation or faith.
